* GCIDA Hosts Workshop for UNESCO Category 2 Centres in Korea
On November 19–20, 2024, the Global Research and Training Centre for Internationally Designated Areas (GCIDA) hosted the fourth-quarter meeting and workshop of Korea’s UNESCO Category 2 Centres in Jeju.
The event brought together over 40 participants, including directors and staff from domestic C2 Centres, to share updates on international cooperation initiatives and discuss strategies aligned with UNESCO’s global priorities.
The workshop featured expert talks on global UNESCO trends, management and conservation of internationally designated areas, and the significance of World Heritage.
A special lecture on Jeju’s volcanic heritage resonated strongly with participants, emphasizing the importance of preserving natural heritage.
